Rancho Bernardo lies in the North County Corridor as neighboring community to South Escondido. Lake Hodges is the dividing line between South Escondido and Rancho Bernardo. The land is rich with history dating back to the Battle of San Pasqual in 1846, where Spanish conquistadors came to "La Canada de San Bernardo¡ in search of wealth for the King of Spain.
